Is it Really Cheating if There is No Sex?

I guess the idea of cheating is different for everyone. I hear women say all the time that you don’t have to have sex in order to be a cheat. I think that is about the craziest thing that I have ever heard. So I asked a good friend of mine, who happens to be a woman, how she defines cheating.
Can You Cheat Without Having Sex?
According to Linda she says that a woman’s definition of cheating is having any relationship that you have to hide from your significant other. This supposedly is to include conversations, meetings and anything else that your significant other would disapprove of. Now this really confused me so I had a couple questions of my own.
So does that mean that when I am talking to Linda about my marriage or talking to her about things that I can’t discuss with my wife, does that mean that I am cheating on my wife ? Of course Linda says that is different. How convenient.
First of all cheating is not the bad word that so many treat it as. As a matter fact, I prefer the word extramarital as opposed to cheating. An extramarital affair is not having a conversation or even chatting online. I do agree that an extramarital affair is something that you don’t want your wife to find out about. That’s obvious. There are many reasons for having an extramarital affair. But I will say, at least for men, it has nothing to do with love. I love my wife and will give my last breath for her but I do like to have sex with other women. That does not make me love my wife any less or make me any less of a husband to her.
I like to think that my extramarital affair actually helps my marriage. I can ask my mistress her opinion when I think that my wife has lost her mind. She helps me to understand!
